Zoning Ordinance

On November 25th, 2025, the Putnam County Planning & Zoning Board of Appeals published notice of a public hearing to consider ZBA #25-002, a Text Amendment requested by Putnam County, Illinois to establish definitions and requirements for governing Carbon Injection Wells (CCS) in Putnam County. When community members arrived at the hearing, however, they were informed, without any prior public notice or opportunity for review, that a revised version of the amendment had been substituted as the document the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) would be voting on.
